Ain’t Easy Anymore

Smoky stump lain on the table
Empty glass waiting for wine
Since you went away from here, this is how I spend my time, closed curtains stop
the light

Ready meals, damn broken boiler
In this crappy frozen flat
The only fire that heats my room, burns when I think back of you and a teardrop
lights my smile

All seems lost

I don’t know where you’re going
But I know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are with
The bed that you sleep in
The things we used to do ain’t easy anymore…
I’ll take down all our pictures
Just like you’ve done before
I’ll pack up all our memories
I’ll throw’em through the door
I’ll struggle with our story, I’ll do it standing tall

Once I used to make you laugh
Once your love for me was tough
We would never gonna brake up even if this world would shake us but time has
said we were lying
‘cause We don’t want no compromise

No one told me, I’ve never asked if there would be a day like that
When love takes everything back
All I wanted was to break the chain but now I can’t get back to the day
And it’s never gonna be the same

I don’t know where you’re going – But I know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are with – The bed that you sleep in
It’s like being in a party but sitting all alone
I’ll box all of our pictures – I’m getting back them all
I won’t erase our story – I’m learning from my faults
I hope you’ll have your good times and find your way back home
